Belated sunday summary

For the past week i've been watching my page views grow into little mountains and i know it sounds vain but i love it :)
I was quite annoyed that i've not posted this weekend i had it all planned out 60's and shopping post for sat and a sunday summary and thn start the week again on monday. But i've not managed any of tht :(
so im gonna catch up a little today with 2 posts maybe 3 if i can find tht much to tlk abt.

On sat night instead of going all out halloween (which i wanted to do) i went back to the 60's :) it was a pretty good night and everyone made an effort to get dressed up, including me. I didn't think i would take it so seriously but i did try and go all out without spending too much money.

My answer was charity shops, primark and my wardrobe.

I finally managed to get an okay pic of my glass lantern in action, it still doesn't show it off well but its the best i could get from my phone. Our collection is slowly growing as everyone wants to make 1 and they are so easy to make and look fab on a cold night.

As its friday i wanted to post something interesting and cool today. It's taken me forever to come up with some thing, the 2 things i finally came up with were either photo friday or photo playlist. I've chosen to do the photo playlist idea as ive not seen it on any other blogs and i love music :) so here goes nothing ...

Panic At The Disco - Let's Kill Tonight

Bruno Mars - It Will Rain

Two Door Cinema Club - Something Good Can Work

                                   Linkin Park - Iridescent

The Killers - Mr. Brightside

Every Avenue - Tell Me I'm A Wreck

Gym Class Heroes - Stereo Hearts ft. Adam Levine

                       Ed Sheeran - Lego House

... i hope you have enjoyed this post and having a little look into my taste of mucic :)

All of these images were taken by me from youtube videos, i do not claim to own either the videos or the songs.

So i thought it was about time i posted something other than nails and here we are....sitting around all day feeling ill and watching daytime tv finally payed off, whilst watching the alan titchmarsh show a nice 5min D.I.Y piece came on featuring 2 really quick and easy autumn makes. The first one (and my favourite) was a little tea light holder made out of an old jam jar covered in autumn leaves and tissue paper. I knew straight away that this was something i wanted to make and it looked soo easy. After hunting around in the kitchen and the recycling bin for any empty glass that we could attack with PVA and tissue paper, to create the wonderful pieces of art. Instead of using autumn leaves which needed to be collected and pressed i used feathers which in my view look prettier.

Things you will need

. Old jar . PVA glue . Paintbrush . Feathers or leaves .  Tissue paper torn into pieces .

 What to do
  • Once you have your glass jars is clean them and remove all labels if you haven't already done so.
  • Its better to do this in sections so coat part of the jar in PVA glue and lay the feather or leaf onto it.
  • Make your way round the jar glueing sections & laying on your feathers or leaves, don't forget the bottom!!
  • When your happy with it carefully paint the fathers with glue & cover with a piece of tissue paper.
  • Continue to do this all the way around the jar until the whole thing is covered including the base.
  • Finally coat the whole thing in a layer of glue turn upside down and leave to dry.
  • Voila a pretty little lantern perfect for a night of relaxing.

Hope you enjoyed this little D.I.Y please go easy on me its the 1st ever one i've wrote. If you have a go at this please feel free to send me any pics i'd love to see your creations :)

I finally got rid of my spotty nails :( it was abt time, and as im coming down with the flu i thought i needed something bright to cheer me up, que bright watermelon nails.. So after a painfull half hour of nail painting, and messing abt with water based paints (nightmare) these are the final results. Unfortunatly i onli have 1 hand finished as they took forever, cocktail sticks are only good for spots not tips and lines.. and don't even get me started on water based paints! Heehee but even though only 1 hand is done and i got in a mess i do love the final outcome and am gonna try to finish the other hand or get my little sister to do em for me :)
I think i need to stop blogging  about nails.....

Apple of my eye...

...... When i went shopping the other day i spotted this cute little jewellary stall, in our high street, full of all sorts of different things. Out of all the sparkles and shimmering jewellary the thing that caught my eye was an apple pendant, simple and rather plain in comparison to the glitter. For some reason it just stood out and shouted "Buy me", but i ignored its shouts and pleas and went home empty handed. Every so often i kept thinking about it and thought that it would be gone when i went back.

But alas a few days ago whn i went shopping it was still there :) it was fate lol i just cudn't resist it and bought it straight away no if's or but's. After a little googling i found that this necklace was originally from topshop :)
As i was going i spotted a ring that looked like st pauls it's amazing i just hope its still there when i go shopping on friday :) fingers crossed.

After seeing soo many amazing pictures of glitter nails i decided to have a go at doin mine, Much to my little sisters delight she is kinda obsessed with nail varnish. So out come the huge box of nail varnish, and after spending forever raiding the hobby cupboard for glitter we cud finally begin.
Kate chose the pink and purple glitter with a base coat of dark pink/purple.
I chose my favourite lilac colour and covered them in 2 different types of shimmery clear glitter.
The results were pretty good for a first attempt even if we did get in a huge mess, and I defiantly think we will be trying it again :D
